The Mutual Growth of Chinese Businesses and the CIIE: A Story of Shared Success
Shanghai, China – The China International Import Expo (CIIE) isnot just a global trade event; it’s a platform for shared growth, particularly for Chinese businesses (those founded by overseas Chinese). These businesses, while outsiders in the global market, are also deeply connected to the event as hosts, actively participating and supporting the CIIE’s success. Inturn, the CIIE has become a catalyst for their own growth and expansion.
A Platform for Growth and Connection
For these Chinese businesses, the CIIE represents a strategic opportunity for both commercial success and cultural connection.Participating in the CIIE is not only a wise business decision, but also a deeply emotional one, says翟京丽, Vice President of APP (China) at the Golden Hope Group. The Golden Hope Group, like manyother Chinese businesses, has been a consistent participant in the CIIE since its inception. We see the CIIE as the most anticipated event of the year. We are both ‘visitors’ and ‘hosts’, she adds.
The CIIE provides a platform for these businesses to showcase their products and servicesto a global audience, connect with international partners, and access new markets.
A Century-Old Legacy Embraces the CIIE
One such example is the century-old Chinese business, the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group). The CIIE has provided an essential platform for collaboration and exchangefor CP Group, says Xie Yi, Senior Vice Chairman and CEO of CP Investment Co., Ltd. On one hand, it has strengthened our ‘buy globally, sell globally’ trade strategy. On the other hand, it has attracted global buyers and partners, helping us to explore new market channels and find new partners.
From Family Workshop to Global Brand: A Story of Resilience
Another success story is the Philippine-based company, Morning Sun Co., Ltd., the creator of the well-known Shanghaojia brand in China. Founded in 1946 as a small family workshop in Manila, the companytransformed into a limited company in 1966 and established a factory in China in 1993. The Shanghaojia brand has steadily gained recognition and popularity among Chinese consumers.
施学理, Chairman of Shanghaojia (China) Co., Ltd., a third-generation Chineseborn and raised in the Philippines, has played a key role in the company’s success. He has incorporated elements of the Filipino Chinatown and Filipino Three Treasures into the company’s CIIE exhibition. He believes that participating in the CIIE has solidified Shanghaojia’s commitment to theChinese market.
A Shared Future: The CIIE and Chinese Businesses
