Alipay Embraces HarmonyOS NEXT: Millions of Mini Programs Now Available
Huawei’slatest operating system, HarmonyOS NEXT, has ushered in a new era for the Chinesetech giant, and Alipay, a key player in the digital life services sector, has embraced the platform with open arms.
On October 22nd,Huawei unveiled HarmonyOS NEXT, its most significant upgrade to date, marking a departure from Android and iOS and offering a truly native experience. The new system boasts five key enhancements:native refinement, native intelligence, native smoothness, native connectivity, and native security.
Alipay, a core partner in the HarmonyOS ecosystem, has officially launched its native version, further enriching the platform’s digital life service offerings.At the launch event, Chen Liang, Vice President of Ant Group, highlighted Alipay’s collaborative journey with HarmonyOS and showcased the latest features and user experience of the native Alipay app.
Since announcing the initiation of native app development last December, Alipayhas dedicated a team of hundreds of technical experts to the project, working closely with Huawei in key areas like ArkUI and application architecture. This collaborative effort has yielded impressive results, with the Alipay HarmonyOS version undergoing numerous iterations, culminating in its official release on October 8th after a successful beta phase.
Thelatest version of Alipay, released on October 22nd, brings a significant boost in performance, with an overall improvement of 15% compared to the previous HarmonyOS 4.2 version. This is attributed to HarmonyOS NEXT’s redefined standard for system smoothness, achieved through deep integration of hardware, software,core technology, and cloud services.
Moreover, the new Alipay app introduces the Tap to Pay feature, a first for the HarmonyOS ecosystem. This innovative payment method, optimized by both Huawei and Alipay, delivers a seamless and intuitive experience, allowing users to complete payments with a simple tap of their devices. This significantlyreduces payment time and enhances convenience.
