Bertone, the renowned Italiandesign house, is set to revive the iconic Runabout model from the 1960s, marking a significant return to the brand’s heritage.Following the successful debut of the Bertone GB110 hypercar, the design atelier is looking to recapture the spirit of its past with a limited-editionrun of the Bertone Runabout.

The Runabout boasts a rich history. The original Autobianchi A112 Runabout concept car was designed by Bertone and penned by the legendary Marcello Gandini. First unveiled at the1969 Turin Motor Show, the compact two-seater mid-engined barchetta was inspired by the racing boats of the mid-1960s.

The Runabout’s unique design elements, itswedge-shaped profile and powerful safety arch, would later be incorporated into other iconic Gandini creations, including the Alfa Romeo Carabo (1968) and the Fiat X1/9 (1972).
