Father Executed for Killing 3-Year-Old Daughter to Extort Money

The horrific incident occurred on January 11, 2023, when Wang Changbao, driven by a desire for money, deliberately orchestrated a traffic accident involving his daughter, Wang Moumou. He led his daughterto a highway in Da He Town, where he threw her into the path of an oncoming truck, resulting in her death.

He didn’t drink, and he didn’t cause trouble in the village. But he had a gambling problem. When he lost, he would go home and demand money from his wife. She was a farmer and didn’t have much money, so he would beat her. Eventually, she divorced him and left with their two older children.
Wang Changbao, who had no skills or stable employment, relied on odd jobs for income. After his divorce, he resorted to desperate measures, ultimately leading to the tragic death of his daughter.
Following the incident, the Sixpan Water Intermediate People’s Court sentenced Wang Changbao to death for intentional homicide, stripping him of hispolitical rights for life. Despite appealing the verdict, the Guizhou Provincial Higher People’s Court upheld the original sentence and referred the case to the Supreme People’s Court for final approval.
