Central Bank Chiefs of South Korea, China, and Japan Meet in Beijing
Seoul, October 17 (Yonhap) – The 13thtrilateral meeting of central bank governors from South Korea, China, and Japan took place in Beijing on Wednesday. Bank of Korea (BOK) Governor RheeChang-yong, People’s Bank of China (PBOC) Governor Pan Gongsheng, and Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Kazuo Uedaparticipated in the meeting.
The meeting, which focused on exchanging views on recent economic and financial conditions, saw the three central bank governors discuss regional and global economic developments, including the ongoing global economic slowdown and the impact of rising inflation. They alsoexplored potential policy responses to these challenges.
According to a statement released by the PBOC, the meeting aimed to enhance communication and cooperation among the three central banks to promote regional financial stability and economic growth.
The 14th trilateral meetingis scheduled to be hosted by the BOJ in 2025.
