Israeli Airstrike Kills Six, Including Mayor, in Lebanon’s Nabatieh
Nabatieh, Lebanon – A series of Israeli airstrikes targetingthe government building in Nabatieh, a major city in southern Lebanon, killed six people, including the city’s mayor, Ahmad Kahil, on Tuesday. Theattack also left 43 injured, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
The Israeli military confirmed the strikes, stating they targeted dozens ofHezbollah targets in the Nabatieh area. However, Lebanese officials condemned the attack, with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati calling it a deliberate targeting of a council meeting discussing the city’s services and relief efforts.
Theattack occurred on the same day that Israeli warplanes launched eight or more airstrikes on several towns surrounding Nabatieh, resulting in additional casualties.
