South Korea’s Namyangju and China’s Changzhou Agree to Exchange Books
Namyangju, South Korea – The Namyangju City Government inGyeonggi-do, South Korea, announced on October 15th that it had reached an agreement with the Changzhou City Government in China to exchangebooks.
The agreement, reached on October 10th, will see the two cities exchange best-selling books and children’s books published in bothKorean and Chinese. The agreement also includes discussions on potential collaborations, such as mutual visits and joint events during Library Day celebrations.
A delegation from Changzhou visited Namyangju to participate in the Tea Mountain Jeong Yak-yong Culture Festival,where they toured the Jeong Yak-yong Library and digital creation facilities.
Namyangju and Changzhou have been international sister cities since 1999. This year marks the 25th anniversary of their partnership.Namyangju Mayor Joo Kwang-deok recently attended the Changzhou New Energy Industry Development Conference, where he presented the city’s vision for hydrogen energy development in Wangsuk New City and its high-tech industrial park.
The book exchange program is expected to foster cultural understanding and strengthen ties between the two cities.It is a testament to the enduring friendship between South Korea and China and the importance of cultural exchange in promoting international cooperation.
