Xiaomi Confirms Continued Development of Civi Series Despite Product Manager Shift
Beijing,October 8, 2024 – Rumors of the Xiaomi Civi seriesbeing discontinued have been quelled by Wang Teng, General Manager of the Redmi brand, who confirmed the series will continue. The confirmation came in response to a user queryon Weibo following the announcement of Civi product manager Hu Xinxin’s transfer to the Redmi team.
Hu Xinxin, who played a key role in the development ofthe Civi series, has been appointed as a product manager for Redmi. Wang Teng, in a Weibo post, expressed his congratulations to Hu Xinxin on joining the Redmi team.
The news of Hu Xinxin’s transfer sparkedspeculation about the future of the Civi series, prompting a user to inquire about its fate. Wang Teng, in a direct response, stated, We will continue to make it.
The Xiaomi Civi series, known for its focus ondesign and aesthetics, launched its latest iteration, the Civi 4 Pro, in March 2024. The device was notable for its debut of the Snapdragon 8s Gen3 processor and its Leica-branded triple camera system featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. In June 2024, a special Disney Princess limited edition was also released.
