LPL Triumphs Over T1 After 1087 Days: TESSecures Opening Victory at Worlds 2024

[City, Date]– In a momentous victory for the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), Team TES (Top Esports) defeated the reigning champions, T1, inthe opening match of the 2024 World Championship, marking the first LPL victory over T1 in 1087 days. This victoryalso ended T1’s undefeated streak in World Championship opening matches.

The last time an LPL team triumphed over T1 in a World Championship match was in 2021, when EDG (Edward Gaming) emerged victoriousin the group stage. Notably, Meiko, the support player for TES, was also part of the EDG team that achieved this feat.

Historically, LPL teams have only managed to defeat T1 three times in World Championship history: OMG in 2013, EDG in 2021, and now TES in 2024. Prior to this match, T1 held a dominant 91.3% win rate against LPL teams in World Championship matches, boasting a 100% winrate in both BO3 and BO5 formats.

The victory in this BO1 match brings T1’s overall win rate against LPL teams in World Championship matches down to 80%, with a record of 12 wins and 3 losses.

A Thrilling Match:

The matchitself was a thrilling display of skill and strategy. TES, with their lineup of 369 (鳄鱼), Tian (蝎子), Creme (阿萝拉), JackeyLove (烬), and Meiko (芮尔), faced off against T1’s formidable roster of Zeus (武器), Oner (猴子), Faker (妮蔻), Gumayusi (寒冰), and Keria (洛).

The early game saw both teams engaging in skirmishes and objectives, with JackeyLove’s Jhin showcasing impressive damage output, securing a quadra kill in a crucial team fight at the 13-minute mark.

However, T1, led by Faker’s signature playmaking on Neeko, managed to turn the tide with strategic plays and team fights, securing a triple kill at the 18-minute mark.

The match reached a pivotal point at the 20-minute mark when TES initiated ateam fight in the mid lane, ultimately securing a two-for-three exchange.

The decisive moment arrived at the 30-minute mark, where TES secured the dragon before T1’s Neeko attempted to initiate a team fight. TES countered effectively, securing a team wipe and pushing to victory.

JackeyLove Shines:

JackeyLove’s performance on Jhin was particularly impressive, earning him the MVP award with a 93% participation rate and a 2000 gold lead over his counterpart. His consistent damage output and strategic positioning were key factors in TES’s victory.

This victorymarks a significant moment for the LPL, demonstrating their continued strength and competitiveness on the global stage. It will be fascinating to see how both teams perform in the upcoming matches and whether TES can continue their winning streak against the formidable T1.
