Chery Jetour Shanhai T1 PHEV SUV Unveiled: Boxy Design with a 2.8-Meter Wheelbase
September 29, 2024 – Jetour Automotive today released official images of its upcoming Shanhai T1 plug-in hybrid SUV.This compact SUV, equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system and boasting a 117km pure electric range (NEDC), is set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Shanhai T1 carries forward the design language of the Jetour Shanhai T2, maintaining a boxy and rugged off-road aesthetic. Its exterior features four-point daytime running lights, a segmented through-type light group, sharp lines, a roof rack, and traditional door handles. The presence of a bicycle on the roof hints at the vehicle’s focus on outdoor light off-roading.
The Shanhai T1, which was declared to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in July, utilizes Chery’s Kunpeng C-DM hybrid technology. It boasts impressive dimensions: 4706mm in length, 1967mm in width, 1845mm in height, and an impressive 2810mm wheelbase – essentially a compact SUV with a mid-size car’s wheelbase. The vehicle also offers a towing license.
The Shanhai T1 provides a variety of optional front and rear bumpers, as well as a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the C-pillar design offers multiple options, including body-colored or black styles, and even a badge that reads Lifetime Warranty.
Powering the Shanhai T1 is a 1.5T engine produced by Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., generating a maximum power output of 115kW. It’s paired with a 26.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery provided by CATL. According to Ministry of Industry and Information Technology data, the engine’s fuel consumption is 1.08 liters per 100 kilometers (NEDC, data for fuel consumption with depleted battery is not yet available).The pure electric range is 117 kilometers (NEDC).
The Shanhai T1’s combination of rugged design, spacious interior, and hybrid powertrain positions it as a compelling option for those seeking a versatile and capable SUV. Its launch later this year is sure to generate significant interest in theChinese automotive market.
