China and Nepal Strengthen Strategic Partnership: Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang Meets with Nepali Deputy Prime Ministerand Finance Minister
Beijing, September 26, 2024 – China’s Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang met with Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel in Beijing on Wednesday, further solidifying the strategic partnership between the two nations.
During the meeting, Vice Premier Ding emphasized the long-standing friendship and shared geographical proximity between China and Nepal, highlighting the exemplary relationship between countries of different sizes based on equality and mutual benefit. He recalled the historic visit of President Xi Jinping to Nepal in 2019, which elevated bilateral relations to a strategic partnership for development and prosperity.
China is committed to working with Nepal to deepen our strategic partnership, Vice Premier Ding stated. We are determined to further enhance cooperation in various fields, including infrastructure development, trade, and investment, for the benefit of both our peoples.
Deputy Prime Minister Paudel expressed gratitude for China’s continued support for Nepal’s development and expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. He emphasized the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in promoting regional connectivity and economic growth.
