Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. has officially unveiled the 2025 models of its popular Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 C-DM at the Tiggo SUV Night event. The new models, which come with a starting price of 152,900 yuan, offer a range of features and enhancements that promise to provide a more refined and technologically advanced driving experience.
New Design Enhancements
The 2025 Tiggo 9 has undergone a subtle but significant redesign. The most noticeable change is the larger waterfall-style front grille, which gives the vehicle a more robust and upscale appearance. The design of the sides and rear of the car remains largely unchanged, but new wheel designs are available for consumers to choose from.
In terms of dimensions, the fuel version of the 2025 Tiggo 9 measures 4820/1930/1699 mm (length/width/height), identical to the previous model, while the C-DM version is slightly taller at 1712 mm. Both models have a wheelbase of 2820 mm.
External and Internal Features
The 2025 Tiggo 9 comes with a host of external features as standard, including LED matrix headlights, smart high and low beam switching, dynamic welcome lighting, a panoramic sunroof that can be opened, an electric tailgate, and rain-sensing, frameless automatic wipers.
For the body color options, the 2025 Tiggo 9 offers four universal colors: Pearl White, Graphite Black, Streamer Silver, and Lava Grey. Additionally, the fuel version features exclusive Moon White Deep paint, while the C-DM version adds two exclusive colors: Cangshan Green and Qingshan Distant Blue.
Inside, the new model retains the current design but is equipped with a 24.6-inch ultra-smooth curved screen and an 8155 high-performance chip. It also supports Apple CarPlay and Huawei HiCar smartphone connectivity. The front seats come with a massage function and a zero-gravity co-pilot seat, complemented by a 540-degree surround super-sense air conditioning system and a SONY 14-speaker sound system.
Seating and Powertrain Options
The 2025 Tiggo 9 family offers both five-seater (2+3) and seven-seater (2+3+2) cabin layouts. Under the hood, the Tiggo 9 is powered by a鹏程动力 2.0T engine, delivering a maximum power of 192 kW and a maximum torque of 400 N·m. It is paired with either an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. High-end models may also come with CDC variable damping suspension.
The Tiggo 9 C-DM, on the other hand, features the same exterior and interior design as the fuel version, with similar configurations. The powertrain system uses Chery’s ultra-energy hybrid C-DM technology, equipped with a 1.5T hybrid-specific engine that achieves a maximum thermal efficiency of 44.5%. The tested fuel consumption is as low as 4L per 100 km. The super hybrid 3DHT system has dual-motor drive and three physical gears, allowing the engine to participate in driving at speeds as low as 18 km/h. Under CLTC conditions, the pure electric range reaches 106 km, with a comprehensive range exceeding 2000 km.
Safety Features
Safety is a key focus for the 2025 Tiggo 9, which features a磐石 body design with high-strength steel accounting for 85% of the body structure. The B-pillar has a tensile strength of 1500 MPa, enhancing the vehicle’s crash resistance. The C-DM version also comes with a Guardian Battery Safety System, using globally standard safe cells and achieving an IP68 waterproof rating, meeting the national standard safety criteria 48 times over.
