SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Yonhap) — The 17th Sino-Korean-Japanese Cultural Industry Forum was held in Hangzhou, China from September 24 to 25, where participants from the three countries discussed plans to promote cultural industry exchanges, according to the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The forum, which began in 2002, is held annually and rotates among the three countries. Its primary aim is to share cultural industry information and policies and support the exchange of businesses among the three nations. Korea and Japan discussed how to further promote cultural industry exchanges in the context of the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.
During the bilateral meetings, the South Korean side emphasized the importance of working together to implement the Kyoto Declaration issued at the 15th Sino-Korean-Japanese Cultural Ministers’ Meeting.
In the government-level meetings, the three parties discussed the theme of combining digital technology with culture and tourism to launch experience programs and content products. Based on the outcomes of the meeting, a joint declaration aimed at promoting cultural industry exchanges and exploring common development was issued.
The Kyoto Declaration, signed during the 15th Sino-Korean-Japanese Cultural Ministers’ Meeting in Kyoto, Japan on September 12, aims to enhance cultural exchanges and cooperation among the three countries.
