St. Petersburg, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi in St. Petersburg on September 12, expressing his strong desire for China to attend the upcoming October Kazan BRICS Summit.
During the meeting, Putin conveyed his sincere greetings and good wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping and expressed his keen expectation for China’s participation in the Kazan BRICS Summit. He emphasized that Russia and China are continuously deepening their comprehensive strategic partnership on an equal and mutually beneficial basis, and that exchanges and cooperation between the two countries are progressing smoothly in various fields.
