Inter Milan have secured their 20th Serie A title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over city rivals AC Milan. The Scudetto, as the Italian league championship is known, was clinched with five games to spare, as Simone Inzaghi’s side took a commanding 17-point lead over AC Milan in the standings.

The match saw Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram score for Inter, securing their place at the top of the league. AC Milan, however, managed to score a late goal through Fikayo Tomori, an ex-Chelsea defender, which didn’t prevent Inter from claiming the title.

The match was marred by tensions and aggressive behavior, which led to three red cards in the closing minutes of the game. Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria were sent off for AC Milan, while Denzel Dumfries received a red card for Inter.

Despite the late aggravation, Inter’s celebrations couldn’t be dampened as they took their first league title under Inzaghi’s leadership.

In the first 18 minutes, Inter took the lead with a header by Acerbi, followed by Thuram’s goal four minutes into the second half, doubling their lead. AC Milan reduced the deficit to one goal with Tomori’s late goal in the 80th minute, but they were unable to equalize and spoil Inter’s title celebrations.

Inter’s triumph has been confirmed, and fans and followers can keep track of the latest news, features, and highlights by subscribing to Sky Sports on WhatsApp or downloading the Sky Sports app for more comprehensive coverage of the league.
