Incheon Airport Partners with Ctrip to Attract Chinese Tourists

Seoul,September 3, 2024 – Incheon International Airport Corporation(IIAC) announced today that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Ctrip Group, China’s leading online travel agency, to attract Chinese tourists.

The signing ceremony was held at the Incheon Paradise City resort and was attended by Lee Heok-jae, President of IIAC, and Edison Chen, Vice President of Ctrip Group, along with other officials.

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on promotional campaigns to fully restore and revitalize the Chinese market. This partnership aims to leverage Ctrip’s extensive reachand influence within China to boost travel demand to Incheon Airport and ultimately, to South Korea.

“This partnership with Ctrip is a crucial step in our efforts to attract Chinese tourists back to Incheon Airport and South Korea,” saidLee Heok-jae, President of IIAC. “We believe that Ctrip’s vast network and expertise in the Chinese travel market will be instrumental in our success.”

This strategic alliance comes at a time when South Korea is actively seeking to revive its tourism sector, particularly from China, following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions. The Chinese market holds immense potential for South Korea’s tourism industry, as it was the largest source of international visitors before the pandemic.

Ctrip, with its vast user base and comprehensive travel services, is well-positioned to facilitate this revival. The company offers a wide range of travelproducts, including flight bookings, hotel reservations, tour packages, and visa applications, making it a one-stop shop for Chinese travelers.
