YHCT (YiHengChuangYuan), a renowned provider of enterprise-grade PCIe SSD products and solutions, has made a significant leap in the storage industry with the launch of its PBlaze7 7A40 series at the Open Data Center Committee (ODCC) conference. The new series represents a breakthrough in domestic SSD technology, leveraging the power of Alibaba’s PingTouGe’s ZhenYue 510 NVMe controller and Yangtze Memory’s flash memory particles.
A Milestone in Domestic SSD Technology
The PBlaze7 7A40 series is the first SSD to achieve a 4K random write performance of 1 million IOPS, providing a substantial boost to applications such as AI, databases, cloud computing, and virtualization. This new SSD series is a testament to the rapid advancements in China’s semiconductor industry and its commitment to innovation.
Performance That Sets New Standards
In terms of performance, the PBlaze7 7A40 series boasts impressive figures. The 4K random read performance reaches 3.3 million IOPS, while the 4K random write performance clocks in at 1 million IOPS. For sequential operations, the SSD can achieve 14.2GB/s for reads and 11.3GB/s for writes.
The SSD’s low latency is another standout feature. Through comprehensive optimization of the I/O path and streamlined processing procedures, the PBlaze7 7A40 has reduced its 4K random read latency to just 55 microseconds, with random write latency dropping to an incredible 5 microseconds. Sequential read latency is similarly low at 5 microseconds.
Energy Efficiency and Capacity
The PBlaze7 7A40 series also excels in energy efficiency. Compared to mainstream enterprise-grade PCIe 4.0 SSDs, it offers a 110% increase in 4K random read performance per watt and a 73% increase in 4K random write performance per watt. The average power consumption for sequential reads and writes is a mere 13W and 18W, respectively.
Capacity-wise, the PBlaze7 7A40 series is available in a range from 3.2TB to 15.36TB, supporting 1DWPD and 3DWPD specifications. It also adheres to the NVMe 2.0 and NVMe-MI 1.2b protocol standards, offering comprehensive features such as full data path protection, power failure data protection, secure erase, and online firmware updates.
Industry Leaders Express Confidence
The CEO of YHCT, in a statement, described the PBlaze7 7A40 series as the most competitive product the company has ever developed. The CEO expressed excitement about the collaboration with PingTouGe and Yangtze Memory, calling the new SSD an exciting product.
PingTouGe’s Vice President, Gao Hui, also commented on the partnership, stating that the performance advantages of PingTouGe’s ZhenYue 510 NVMe controller have been fully demonstrated through this collaboration. Gao expressed anticipation that the PBlaze7 7A40 series will set a new benchmark for high-performance domestic SSD products.
A representative from Yangtze Memory echoed these sentiments, noting that with PingTouGe’s superior controller and YHCT’s professional firmware, the PBlaze7 7A40 series will fully leverage the high performance, durability, low latency, and low power consumption characteristics of Yangtze Memory’s Xtacking flash technology, providing users with a more efficient and reliable storage experience.
The launch of the PBlaze7 7A40 series marks a significant milestone for China’s storage industry, showcasing the country’s advancements in semiconductor technology and its commitment to innovation. With its impressive performance, energy efficiency, and robust features, the PBlaze7 7A40 series is poised to make waves in the global market.
