内蒙古文博会成交总额突破9000万元
Hohhot, China – September 2, 2024
The Eighth Inner Mongolia Cultural Industry Expo and Trade Fair (简称文博会), a five-day event, concluded on September 2, with a total transaction volume exceeding 90 million yuan (approximately 12.5 million USD), marking a significant milestone for the cultural industry in the region.
A Showcase of Cultural Diversity and Innovation
Organized by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the expo was held at the Hohhot International Convention and Exhibition Center. This year’s event featured 10 major exhibition areas, including a special section for cultural enterprises from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Over 500 enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions participated, showcasing a rich variety of cultural products, including intangible cultural heritage techniques, creative culture, and ethnic traditional culture.
Record-Breaking Transactions and Contract Orders
The expo achieved remarkable results in terms of transactions and business deals. The on-site transaction volume reached 21.47 million yuan, a 33% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, precise matching between upstream and downstream enterprises led to contract orders worth 72.55 million yuan, marking a 17% growth from the previous year. This surge in business activity highlights the growing dynamism of Inner Mongolia’s cultural industry and its increasing appeal to both domestic and international participants.
A Platform for Cultural Exchange and Development
One of the key highlights of the expo was the participation of numerous cultural inheritors and artisans. Among them was Wu Lan Tuya, a非遗 (intangible cultural heritage) inheritor from Khorchin Left Banner in Xing’an League. She sold out all her products, with milk tofu and milk skin being the most popular. The biggest gain from this trip is the recognition from visitors for grassland dairy products, she said.
The expo also served as a platform for new and emerging enterprises, with approximately 70% of the participating companies being first-time attendees. Many of these companies focused on cutting-edge digital products in areas such as artificial intelligence, cultural tourism equipment, and digitalization of cultural relics, receiving positive feedback from attendees.
Strengthening Cultural Confidence and National Identity
The expo not only facilitated economic transactions but also played a crucial role in promoting cultural confidence and national identity. By showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Inner Mongolia and other regions, the event contributed to the strengthening of cultural awareness and pride among participants. It also provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and mutual learning among different ethnic groups and countries.
Looking Ahead to Future Growth
The success of the Eighth Inner Mongolia Cultural Industry Expo and Trade Fair has set a positive tone for the future development of the region’s cultural industry. With the continuous support of the government and the active participation of enterprises, the cultural industry in Inner Mongolia is poised to achieve even greater heights, contributing significantly to the region’s economic and cultural prosperity.
As the event came to a conclusion, organizers and participants alike expressed their anticipation for the next edition of the expo, expecting it to further enhance the cultural industry’s contribution to the region’s development and promote the profound cultural heritage of Inner Mongolia to a broader audience.
