The Railway Police Bureau has launched an investigation into the incident, with initial suspicions that the man may have mistakenly entered the railway tracks.
On the same day, TRA Train No. 402, a太鲁阁号 (Ta Ru Gu), experienced a derailment between Daren and Dongdian in Hualien County, reportedly after striking a rock.
