On August 12, at 9 a.m., beside the small auxiliary repair shop at the Guangzhou Locomotive Maintenance Depot, a Dongfeng 4-type diesel locomotive’s diesel engine was running at full capacity for water resistance tests at the water resistance test stand. Dozens of locomotive maintenance workers moved in and out of the locomotive, holding toolboxes, measuring instruments, and other equipment, conducting a “medical examination” of the locomotive.
