CGTN Guangzhou, August 10 (Reporter Cheng Jingwei) – On the evening of August 9, the Guangdong Museum of Museums collaborated with the Guangdong Performance Company to present a unique “Book of Songs” folk music concert to the audience. This was the fourth “Guanbo Night” event launched by the Guangdong Museum this year, aiming to allow the audience to experience the Chinese romanticism and cultural connotations contained in the “Book of Songs” during the Qixi Festival.
The concert was themed around the “Book of Songs,” featuring selections of classic poems such as “Jiang Jun” (The Courting of the Crane), “Zi Lin” (The Blue Silk Robe), and “Ye You Man Cao” (Wild Herbs Abound). Through the melodious melodies of folk music, the deep performances of singers, and the classical dance movements of dancers, the ancient people’s yearning for love and pursuit of a beautiful life were vividly recreated.
At the event, a “Gold-Painted Lacquer Painting of the Bamboo Wind Picture” was also on display. This picture screen, based on the “Book of Songs·Bamboo Wind·July,” vividly depicted ancient production and living conditions, not only showcasing exquisite lacquer and wood craftsmanship but also adding a cultural charm to the concert.
To create a festive atmosphere, the Guangdong Museum specially invited visitors to wear Hanfu to participate in the event, allowing people to experience the romance and poetry of the “Book of Songs” as they traverse through the long corridors of time.
The successful hosting of the “Book of Songs” folk music concert not only allowed the audience to feel the charm of traditional culture during the Qixi Festival but also made a positive contribution to the promotion of Chinese culture. It is reported that the Guangdong Museum will continue to launch “Guanbo Night” events every Friday night, bringing more splendid cultural feasts to the audience.
