As artificial intelligence technology advances at a rapid pace, large language models (LLMs) are demonstrating their unique value across various fields, particularly sparking revolutionary changes in traditional sectors such as search, recommendation, and advertising. Thanks to their superior abilities in text understanding and generation, large language models are capable of precisely capturing user interests and preferences, combining traditional techniques and leveraging vast amounts of historical data to significantly enhance the conversion efficiency of search, recommendation, and advertising.

At the AICon, a specialized forum held on August 2, 2024, experts from top enterprises and academic institutions such as Huawei, JD.com, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) shared their first-hand experiences and insights into the application of large models. Chen Bo from Huawei’s Noah’s Ark Lab introduced the exploration and application of large models in Huawei’s recommendation scenarios, demonstrating how large models are bringing new opportunities to recommendation systems and providing a detailed introduction to recommendation algorithms based on large models. Zhai Zhouwei, the AIGC Technology Director of JD.com, shared JD.com’s technical exploration and practices in e-commerce large models, covering areas such as knowledge-enhanced pre-training, instruction alignment, and security. Wang Hao, a Special Research Associate at USTC, shared the latest research achievements of USTC in recommendation systems, showing how large model-based recommendation systems have achieved a qualitative leap in performance. Gao Yan (yǎn), the Generative Search Leader at Xiaohongshu, discussed how large models are revolutionizing search engines, overcoming the limitations of traditional search, and analyzing user search behavior.
