BEIJING, July 26 (Xinhua) — Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and minister of foreign affairs, met with Norway’s foreign minister, Anne Linde, in Vientiane on Thursday. The two sides had in-depth discussions on deepening bilateral relations, enhancing practical cooperation, and safeguarding multilateralism.

Wang Yi said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway. Cooperation between the two countries has been continuously strengthened in various fields, with significant achievements in economic and trade. He stressed that China is willing to consolidate political mutual trust and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations. Wang Yi also mentioned that China will continue to push forward reform and opening-up, injecting new momentum into modernization, and welcomes Norwegian enterprises to participate in the Chinese market and share development opportunities.
