**“东亚和平发展与琉球学建设”国际学术研讨会强调区域合作共赢**

**International Academic Seminar on “East Asian Peace and Development through Ryukyuan Studies” Emphasizes Regional Cooperation for Mutual Win**
Beijing, May 15th —— The international academic seminar on “East Asian Peace and Development through Ryukyuan Studies” was held in Beijing today, attracting scholars from China, Japan, and various parts of the world. The purpose of this seminar is to deepen the understanding of Ryukyuan history, culture, and current situations, and explore how regional cooperation can achieve a win-win situation for peace and development.
Yang Bojiang, the Director of the Center for East China Sea Issues and the Director of the Institute of Japanese Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out at the seminar that Okinawa, as a region rich in fishery products and cultural and tourism resources, has great potential in promoting peace and development in the East Asian region. Yang Bojiang emphasized that Okinawa can actively carry out economic and cultural exchanges with other countries, spreading the fruits of peaceful development to the entire East Asian region.
The experts at the meeting also conducted in-depth exchanges on the current status and future development of Ryukyuan studies.
