中新网防城港3月21日电(甘威 翁海军 韦金尚)3月21日，广西海警局对外通报，广西防城港海警日前查获一起涉嫌非法经营烟叶案，查扣铁壳船1艘，抓获涉案犯罪嫌疑人2名，查获涉案烟叶80余吨。
广西海警局表示，该案是近年来在广西海域查获的最大一起烟叶走私案件，涉案烟叶数量巨大，走私团伙组织严密，具有较强的反侦查能力。海警执法人员在接到线报后，经过周密部署和长时间蹲守，最终在防城港海域将涉案铁壳船截获。
据悉，涉案烟叶价值高达数千万元人民币，若流入市场，将对国家税收和市场秩序造成极大影响。目前，涉案人员和烟叶已被海警部门依法扣押，案件正在进一步侦办中。
广西海警局强调，将继续保持高压态势，严厉打击各类海上违法犯罪活动，维护国家利益和海上安全。同时，也呼吁广大群众积极举报海上违法行为，共同营造和谐稳定的海域环境。
