The United Nations warned Friday (March 5) that the humanitarian response in the Gaza Stripis at risk of collapse.
Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said the agency is “facing a concerted campaign to delegitimize and ultimately dismantle its operations.”

“UNRWA plays an indispensable role in Gaza, providing a lifeline for the most vulnerable in the territory,” Lazzarini said. He appealed to the international community to take urgent action to prevent the agency from being undermined.
