According to Deloitte’s latest release “State of Generative AI in the Enterprise 2024”, a survey of 2,800 senior managers from 6 industries and 16 countries/regions worldwide shows that although 79% of respondents hold a positive attitude towards the use of generative AI in their organizations and expect this technology to bring significant change in the next three years, their current focus is on how to derive tangible benefits from generative AI.
More than half of the business and technology leaders expressed particular concern that the widespread use of AI could concentrate global economic power and exacerbate economic inequality. This indicates that while having an optimistic outlook on the future of generative AI, senior executives are still puzzled and anxious about how to realize the commercial value of this technology in the short term.
The report points out that the development of generative AI has entered a new phase, shifting from traditional “analytic” AI to “creative” AI, which enables AI to generate new text, images, audio, and video. This transformation offers tremendous opportunities to businesses as well as challenges.
