近日，上海崇明东滩鸟类国家级自然保护区开展了一次冬候鸟专项调查，发现保护区内的湿地生态系统功能不断提升，吸引了大量珍稀鸟类前来栖息。在此次调查中，共记录到53种、4万多只鸟在保护区内栖息，其中包括野生丹顶鹤、鹈鹕、大红鹳等国家级保护动物。
此次调查成果丰硕，国家一级保护动物东方白鹳有72只，白头鹤47只，小天鹅1816只。这些数据的收集和分析，反映了保护区内生态环境的日益改善，为鸟类提供了良好的栖息和繁衍条件。
