News Content: BEIJING, January 31 (Xinhua) — The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announced today on its website that the Third High-level Meeting on the Transformation of Asia-Pacific Regional Food Systems was successfully held in a virtual format on January 31 Beijing Time. This meeting, serving as an important preparatory activity for the 37th FAO Asia and Pacific Regional Conference scheduled to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital, from February 19 to 22, aimed at jointly exploring and advancing strategies for food security and development transformation in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to information, this high-level meeting on the transformation of the Asia-Pacific regional food systems was co-convened by China and the FAO, with strong support and hosting from the Government of Sri Lanka. Delegates from various government departments, agricultural institutions, and international organizations gathered to engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges on how to leverage technological innovation, sustainable agricultural practices, food production and processing, and trade cooperation, all in pursuit of establishing a more inclusive, efficient, and resilient food safety network to address challenges faced by the global food system, such as climate change, population growth, and resource constraints.
