我国第五座南极考察站——罗斯海新站已进入最后冲刺阶段，预计2月初完成建设。罗斯海新站是我国在南极地区的第5个考察站，采用了绿色技术和集成化空间体系，建筑面积5244平方米，其主体设计为南十字星造型，建成后预计可满足80人度夏、30人越冬的基本需求。
据IT之家1月14日报道，罗斯海新站建筑设计师祝贺介绍：主楼的长轴和主导的风向保持一致，底层局部架空，以防止南极积雪的影响。建筑的内部高度集成，用模块化来进行建造，可使建筑占地面积最小化，把建筑对原生地貌的影响降到最低。
据了解，罗斯海新站所有的钢结构都在江苏徐州完成生产，并在去年7月进行了预拼装。据介绍，新站安装多种功能模块，根据功能划分，一共分为度夏、越冬、办公室、实验室、厕所五大类，一共84个，目前模块的安装工作已全部完成。此外，新站还需要安装吊装幕墙板，不但要坚固、美观，而且要求特别保暖。幕墙板负责人介绍，幕墙板外面是一层不锈钢板，背面是铝型材复合板，最里面的一层有聚氨酯泡沫板。
