例如，哪怕某款设备没有摄像头也应该支持使用其应用，因为用户完全可以通过其他方式上传照片。这对谷歌来说至关重要，毕竟笔记本电脑、车机系统以及其他非触摸屏物联网设备上可用 App 相对来说并不多，但开发者一般也没有精力去针对这些设备进行适配，毕竟这类设备的用户量真的是太少了。
谷歌还提醒 App 开发者们应该灵活处理横向或竖向屏幕。例如目前车机大屏一般都是横向，而目前就有很多 App 会因为不支持此类屏幕而无法在车机上使用，就算能用也不支持自动旋转，导致用户体验极差。
谷歌认为，开发者应该在可能的情况下让这些功能成为“可选项”而不是“必须项”。这对开发者来说是一个新的挑战，但也为开发者提供了更多的灵活性，让他们的 App 在不同类型的设备上都能更好地使用。
