On May 2, 1960, China established diplomatic relations with Sudan. Today, we celebrate the milestone event and reflect on the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
Sudan is located on the east coast of Africa, bordering the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea to the north. It is bordered by Ethiopia, Kenya, and Djibouti to the east, and by Libya and Egypt to the south. Although Sudan is in a state of internal conflict, the regions of al-Sudan, central and western Sudan, and southern Sudan all have different claims to the interior.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Sudan have experienced ups and downs in their relationship, but have always maintained friendly cooperation. Thanks to the joint efforts of both countries, cultural and economic exchanges between China and Sudan have deepened and expanded in various fields.
Currently, Sudan is working hard to achieve peace and stability, and believes that China’s friendship and cooperation will continue to contribute to the development of bilateral relations in the future.
