Huawei Expands AI Always-On Messaging to Over 15 Wearables

Huawei’s Mate 70 series launch coincides with the expansion of itsAI Always-On Messaging feature to a wide range of wearables, enhancing connectivity and notification accessibility.

BEIJING, December 4, 2023 – Huawei today launched its highly anticipated Mate 70 series smartphones, alongside a public beta test for HarmonyOS NEXT on six devices, including theMate 70 series and Mate X6. Simultaneously, the company announced a significant expansion of its AI Always-On Messaging feature, bringing seamless notification mirroring to over 15 compatible wearables.

This innovative feature addresses acommon communication challenge: missed notifications when a smartphone is inaccessible. When a user’s phone is in use by another person, or otherwise unavailable, the AI Always-On Messaging feature ensures that incoming notifications are mirrored to the connected Huawei wearabledevice, guaranteeing timely alerts. This functionality is particularly useful in situations where immediate notification access is crucial.

The update requires wearables to be running HarmonyOS 4.0.0 or later. Users can enable the feature through the Huawei Health app, navigating to Devices, selecting their connected watch, and thenactivating Notifications and Smart Notification Alerts.

The following Huawei wearables are currently compatible with AI Always-On Messaging:

HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Series: HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Design, HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate

HUAWEI WATCH Series: HUAWEI WATCH 4, HUAWEI WATCH 4 Pro, HUAWEI WATCH 3, HUAWEI WATCH 3 Pro, HUAWEI WATCH 3 Pro new, HUAWEI WATCH Buds, HUAWEI WATCH D2

HUAWEI WATCH GT Series: HUAWEI WATCH GT 5, HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro, HUAWEI WATCH GT 4, HUAWEI WATCH GT 3, HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Pro

HUAWEI FIT Series: HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3, HUAWEI WATCH FIT 2, Huawei Band 9, Huawei Band 8

While the feature offers enhanced notification accessibility, Huawei notes that accuracy may be impacted by strong or low light conditions, obscured faces, or obstructed motion sensors.

This expansion of AI Always-OnMessaging demonstrates Huawei’s commitment to enhancing user experience across its ecosystem. By seamlessly integrating smartphones and wearables, Huawei continues to refine its HarmonyOS offering, providing users with more intuitive and responsive communication tools. Future iterations of the feature may further expand compatibility and functionality.
