Wind-Transmitted Fog Cascades Down Mountains in Japan
A breathtakingspectacle unfolded in the southern part of Mie Prefecture, Japan, on November 12th,as a phenomenon known locally as Wind-Transmitted Fog captivated onlookers. The fog, resembling a cascading waterfall of white, flowed down the mountainside, creatinga mesmerizing scene.
This unique phenomenon occurs when fog, formed in the basin below, is carried by the wind over the Fūden mountain range. As the windpushes the fog over the ridge, it descends the slopes, mimicking the flow of water. On the morning of the 12th, around 6 am, a band of fog could be seen slowly moving towards the foot of the mountain, captivating residents with its ethereal beauty.
The cosmos flowers are also in bloom, making the scenery even more beautiful, remarked a local woman in her 70s, expressing her delight at the captivating spectacle.
