The two executives took a test drive in a GAC Aion RT, experiencing its urban NDA (Navigation-Assisted Driving) capabilities during rush hour. When asked about GAC’s intelligent driving technology compared to global leaders, Feng Xingya stated that GAC is currently on par with the best, and their goal is to surpass them within three years.

GAC has made significant investments in autonomous driving, allocating over 45 billion yuan (approximately $6.3 billion USD) to research and development. This commitment is evident in the advanced features of the Aion GT, which recently underwentrigorous testing by media outlets.

The Aion GT’s high-level intelligent driving system, equipped with a lidar sensor, demonstrated impressive performance during testing. The system successfully navigated highway routes, utilizing NDA functionality for 98.93% of the test drive, only encountering limitations at toll booths.The vehicle also showcased its capabilities in automatic parking, effortlessly maneuvering into both standard and obstacle-filled parking spaces within 30 seconds.
