Korean and Chinese Cities Deepen Friendship Ties with Expanded Cooperation
束草, South Korea – The cities of Sokcho in South Korea’s GangwonProvince and Hunchun in China’s Jilin Province have agreed to further expand their friendly city exchanges, aiming to strengthen cooperation and foster closer ties.
This commitment was solidified during a recent visit by a delegation from Sokcho, led by Mayor Lee Byung-seon, to Hunchun. The five-day visit, which began on October 22nd, saw the delegation engaging in discussions with Hunchun’s Mayor Zhang Lin-guo, focusing on potential collaboration initiatives.
On October 23rd, a significant milestone was reached withthe signing of a business agreement titled Regarding the Enhancement of Friendly Relations and Active Exchanges between Sokcho City and Hunchun City. This agreement formally outlines the commitment of both cities to deepen their existing friendship and explore new avenues for mutual benefit.
The Sokcho delegation, which included representatives from various economic organizations, also visited key industrial parks and trade facilities in Hunchun. This firsthand observation of Hunchun’s economic landscape is expected to further inform future collaborations.
The deepening of ties between Sokcho and Hunchun reflects a broader trend of strengthening relations betweenSouth Korea and China. Both cities are strategically located in their respective regions, with potential for cooperation in areas such as tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
