解脲沙雷氏菌SuYN1在所有按蚊身上都很常见,但腾冲蚊子体内的这种细菌却拥有独特的抗疟能力。研究发现,解脲沙雷氏菌SuYN1能够分泌一种特殊的脂肪酶,这种脂肪酶就像一个小炸弹,能够有效地杀死疟原虫。

更令人惊叹的是,解脲沙雷氏菌Su_YN1还能分泌一种囊泡,将脂肪酶包裹在里面,就像一个小运输车,将“小炸弹”运送到疟原虫身边,精准地进行攻击。

有了抗疟活性的细菌,下一个问题是如何让它在真实世界中发挥作用?王四宝团队计划将解脲沙雷氏菌Su_YN1制作成活菌制剂,让疟疾疫区的蚊子吃下去,在蚊子的肠道中阻击疟原虫。

由于解脲沙雷氏菌Su_YN1可以通过交配和繁殖传播,只要吃过菌剂的蚊子,就会将这种细菌很快地扩散到更大的群体中。吃下菌剂的蚊子,体内就像装备了一个对抗疟原虫的益生菌或生化武器,还能很快地将其传递给身边的蚊子。

目前,王四宝团队正在进行菌剂研发和小规模试验。这项研究成果,为人类战胜疟疾带来了新的希望。它不仅提供了一种全新的抗疟思路,更证明了通过“治愈”蚊子来控制疾病传播的可行性。
