Sichuan Province Resumes ID and Residency Services After Server Outage
Chengdu,China – The Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department announced the restoration of ID and residency servicesacross the province following a server outage caused by a power failure in the data center. The outage, which began on the morning of October 9th, affectedall public security bureaus in the province, halting the processing of applications for ID cards and residency permits.
The outage was attributed to a short circuit in the data center’selectrical system, which led to a failure of the servers responsible for processing these applications. The Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department’s grassroots work team immediately launched a full-scale repair operation, working tirelessly to restore the system.
After strenuous efforts, theserver fault has been repaired, and all public security agencies in the province have resumed handling ID and residency services, announced the team in a statement released on the evening of October 9th.
Starting from October 10th,residents can resume their applications for ID cards and residency permits at all levels of government service centers, public security windows, and police stations. The department expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding and support during the outage.
