Chinese Football Association Punishes Players and Clubs for On-Field Violence
BEIJING,CHINA – The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has announced disciplinary actions against twoclubs and their players for violent conduct during a recent match.
On October 5th, following a Chinese Football League Division 2 match between GuangxiLanhang and Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), multiple players from both teams engaged in a post-game brawl, causing significant disruption and a negative public image.
The CFA’s investigation revealed that BIT player Ma Chu-hang (No. 37) was red-carded for pulling down an opponent from behind. Guangxi Lanhang substitute player Guo Yong-chu (No. 6) wasalso red-carded for entering the field and pushing an opposing player.
As a result, both Ma Chu-hang and Guo Yong-chu have been suspended for four matches and fined 20,000 yuan each.Both Guangxi Lanhang and BIT have also received public reprimands.
This incident marks the second time this year that the CFA has taken disciplinary action against these two clubs. In early September, following a match between BIT and Guangxi Lanhang, a similar post-game altercation occurred, resulting in suspensions and finesfor two Guangxi Lanhang players and public reprimands for both clubs.
The CFA’s actions highlight the organization’s commitment to promoting fair play and sportsmanship within Chinese football. The CFA’s announcement has been met with widespread support from fans and commentators, who are calling for stricter measures to prevent future incidentsof violence.
