中新网桂林8月13日电(涂丽莎 欧惠兰)“中国寻根之旅”夏令营广西桂林营于今日圆满闭营，来自美国、法国、英国、德国、西班牙、泰国的69名华裔青少年在8名领队老师的带领下，结束了为期10天的文化交流之旅。
此次活动由中国侨联主办，广西壮族自治区侨联、广西师范大学等承办。在桂林、贺州、南宁等地，海外华裔青少年体验了壮乡山歌、民族舞蹈、中国武术、中国书画等具有中华文化特色的课程，并参访了桂林明代藩王府邸遗址靖江王府、东西巷、喀斯特地貌、贺州文庙、黄姚古镇、南宁三街两巷等人文和自然景观。
活动期间，海外华裔青少年不仅感受到了广西秀美的自然风光和独特的历史文化，还通过亲身体验和实地考察，对中国悠久的历史和灿烂的文化有了更深入的了解。他们还与来自不同国家和地区的同龄人结下了深厚的友谊，留下了难忘的回忆。
广西师范大学副校长李先贤在闭营仪式上寄语海外华裔青少年，希望他们能够传承和弘扬中华优秀传统文化，成为连接世界与中国文化的重要桥梁。
来自英国的华裔青少年Zoe Daniel表示，她在这次夏令营中找到了自己的“根”，并对中国的发展有了更深刻的认识。领队老师萧莹莹也表达了希望孩子们能够利用自己的双重文化背景和语言优势，为世界与中国文化的交流做出贡献。
闭营仪式上，与会嘉宾为领队老师和营员颁发了证书，海外华裔青少年通过歌舞、武术等表演，为这次夏日之旅划上了圆满的句号。家长们通过“云”分享，也见证了孩子们的变化和成长，纷纷表示希望更多的孩子能够了解中国、爱上中国。

[Guilin, Aug 13, 2023] (Tu Lishu, Ouyang Huilan) The Guilin Summer Camp of the “Chinese Roots Journey” organized by the Chinese Overseas League, co-hosted by the Overseas Chinese League of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guangxi Normal University, concluded successfully today. A total of 69 Chinese-American teenagers from the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Thailand, led by eight chaperones, completed a 10-day cultural exchange journey.
This event was hosted by the Chinese Overseas League and co-organized by the Overseas Chinese League of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guangxi Normal University. During their stay in Guilin, Hezhou, and Nanning, the overseas Chinese teenagers experienced courses featuring Chinese cultural characteristics such as Zhuang folk songs, ethnic dances, Chinese martial arts, and Chinese painting and calligraphy. They also visited cultural and natural landmarks such as the ruins of the Ming Dynasty’s Fangwang Mansion in Guilin’s Jingjiang Wangfu, the East and West Lanes, karst landscapes, the Wenmiao in Hezhou, the ancient town of Huangyao in Huangyao, and the three streets and two lanes in Nanning.
During the event, the overseas Chinese teenagers not only enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery and unique historical culture of Guangxi, but also gained a deeper understanding of China’s long and splendid history and culture through firsthand experiences and field studies. They also forged deep friendships with peers from different countries and regions, leaving unforgettable memories.
At the closing ceremony, Vice President Li Xianxian of Guangxi Normal University addressed the overseas Chinese teenagers, hoping they would inherit and promote China’s excellent traditional culture and become an important bridge between world and Chinese cultures.
Zoe Daniel, a Chinese-American teenager from the UK, said she found her “roots” during the summer camp and gained a more profound understanding of China’s development. Chaperone Xiao Yingying expressed her hope that the children would use their dual cultural background and language advantage to contribute to the cultural exchange between the world and China.
At the closing ceremony, certificates were awarded to the chaperones and campers. The overseas Chinese teenagers concluded their summer journey with performances such as songs, dances, and martial arts. Parents witnessed their children’s changes and growth through “cloud” sharing and expressed their hope that more children would learn about and fall in love with China.
The “Chinese Roots Journey” summer camp not only provided overseas Chinese teenagers with a precious opportunity to gain a deep understanding of Chinese culture but also promoted cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, deepening the recognition and sense of belonging of the younger generation to the Chinese civilization.
