广汽传祺 and Huawei Unveil 1 Concept Car: A Fusion of HarmonyOS Cockpit and Qiankun ADS 3.0
Guangzhou, China – September 24, 2024
Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) and Huawei have jointly unveiled their latest concept car, the 1 Concept, featuring Huawei’s intelligent automotive solutions. The vehicle is equipped with the HarmonyOS cockpit and Qiankun Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADS) 3.0, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two companies.
The 1 Concept, which made its debut on September 24, 2024, is set to redefine the future of smart mobility. The car is designed to showcase the cutting-edge technologies that GAC and Huawei have developed together, with the量产 version scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025.
Design and Aerodynamics
The 1 Concept presents a sporty and dynamic streamline design, characterized by a low and wide stance that reduces aerodynamic drag. The front fascia features a large interactive light display where the traditional grille would be, complemented by LED daytime running lights that span the entire width of the car and slim LED headlights on either side, giving it a futuristic appeal. The car also boasts a time-axis headlight system, offering three modes: off, driving, and autonomous driving.
On the side, the 1 Concept embraces a coupe-like design with large wheels, frameless doors, and a sloping roof. The rear of the vehicle tapers towards the center, adding to the overall sense of motion. Measuring 5128mm in length, over 2000mm in width, and a wheelbase of 3000mm, the car employs a short front and rear overhang design to maximize interior space. It also comes equipped with 21-inch wheels.
Smart Driving and Technology
Under the hood, the 1 Concept is powered by GAC’s i-GTEC 2.0 engine and is equipped with Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit and Qiankun ADS 3.0 system. The ADS 3.0 is capable of achieving intelligent driving from parking space to parking space, known as NCA (Neighborhood Connect Assist). The parking function supports walk away parking, eliminating the need for memory parking and even allowing the car to park in extremely narrow spaces.
In emergency braking situations where the AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) distance is insufficient, the system can safely navigate around obstacles by changing lanes. It can also recognize bicycles crossing diagonally or perpendicular to the vehicle.
A New Flagship Model
The 1 Concept is the first tangible product to emerge from the New joint innovation plan between GAC and Huawei. The collaboration, which was announced during the Beijing Auto Show in April 2024, aims to integrate GAC’s i-GTEC 2.0, Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0, and the next-generation HarmonyOS cockpit to create a series of new flagship models, including sedans, SUVs, and MPVs.
Guangzhou’s Super Range Technology
In addition to the 1 Concept, GAC also introduced its latest new energy technology, the Guangzhou Super Range. This technology features a three-motor distributed four-wheel drive and a four-motor independent four-wheel drive electric layout. The Guangzhou Super Range is paired with a 56-kWh 800V 5C fast-charging dedicated battery pack, offering a pure electric range of over 300 kilometers. Future mass-produced models resulting from the GAC-Huawei collaboration will be equipped with this system.
Conclusion
The 1 Concept represents a significant leap forward in the integration of smart technology and automotive design. With its sleek aesthetics, advanced driving systems, and innovative energy solutions, the car is poised to set a new benchmark in the smart car market. As GAC and Huawei continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, the future of mobility looks increasingly promising.
