Art + Culture Takes Center Stage: Chengdu CPPCC Hosts Joint Art Exhibition

Chengdu, China – A unique exhibition showcasing the fusion of traditionalChinese art and contemporary cultural creativity opened its doors on September 19th at the Chengdu Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Art and History Museum. The Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 75th Anniversaryof the Founding of the CPPCC Joint Art Exhibition is a vibrant celebration of China’s cultural heritage and artistic innovation.

The exhibition features a diverse collection of artworks, encompassing calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting (Guohua), oilpainting, and more. Artists have poured their passion and skill into these pieces, expressing their love for their country, their admiration for the era, and their hopes for the future. Some works depict the magnificent landscapes of China through powerful landscapes, while othersoffer intimate portraits reflecting the happiness of the people. Powerful calligraphy pieces convey heartfelt blessings for the nation.

One standout work is By the Dadu River by Liu Zhengxing, a piece that captures the spirit of the iconic river and its historical significance.

Beyond the traditional art forms, the exhibitiontakes a bold step forward by integrating art and cultural creativity. A series of unique cultural and creative products, such as postcards, notebooks, and scarves featuring themes from the artwork, have been launched. This innovative approach brings art closer to everyday life and opens new avenues for its dissemination and promotion. It also offers visitors a freshand engaging experience.

This exhibition aims to showcase Chengdu’s rich cultural heritage and innovative spirit through the unique form of art, stated Tian Rong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Chengdu CPPCC, in her opening speech. It celebrates the remarkable achievements made in various fields over the past75 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It also vividly displays the unity and cooperation of the CPPCC, inspiring patriotism and national pride among the public.

The exhibition is jointly organized by the Chengdu Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, the CPPCC Office, the municipal democratic parties, theCPPCC of each district (city) and county, the CPPCC Culture and History Committee, and the CPPCC Art Institute.
