HarmonyOS Auto AITO M5 and M7 Receive Major OTA Update with New Features
Beijing, China – September 17, 2024 -HarmonyOS Auto, the intelligent automotive operating system developed by Huawei, has announced a major over-the-air (OTA) update for its AITO M5and M7 vehicles. The update introduces a range of new features and enhancements, including advanced parking assistance, enhanced driving safety, and improved user experience.
Theupdate, which is expected to be rolled out to all AITO M5 and M7 vehicles, brings three major capability upgrades and over seven experience optimizations. Notably, the update introduces two highly anticipated features: Park Assist (AVP)and Reverse Assist (RA).
Park Assist (AVP) allows the vehicles to autonomously park in designated parking spaces within a complex environment like a parking garage. This feature is available on the AITO M5 and M7Intelligent Driving Edition models.
Reverse Assist (RA) enables the vehicles to automatically reverse along a previously driven path, making it easier to navigate tight spaces or exit complex parking situations. This feature is also available on the AITO M5 and M7 Intelligent Driving Edition models.
In addition to these majorfeatures, the update also includes several other improvements:
- Mechanical Parking Space Assistance: This feature helps the AITO M5 Intelligent Driving Edition models park in mechanical parking spaces.
- Rear Obstacle Detection and Tailgate Collision Prevention: This feature is available on the new AITO M7 Ultra model and provides anextra layer of safety by detecting obstacles behind the vehicle and preventing potential collisions.
- Driver Seat Multi-Position Memory: This feature allows the driver to save their preferred seat position on the new AITO M7 Ultra and AITO M5 series models.
- Electric Sunshade: This feature is available as an optionalextra on the new AITO M5 and allows users to control the sunshade electronically.
- NCA Optimization: The update includes improvements to the NCA (Navigation Cruise Assistance) system, enabling it to better handle emergency lane changes and adjust speed based on risk scenarios. These improvements are available on the AITO M5and M7 Intelligent Driving Edition models.
The update can be downloaded and installed through the vehicle’s infotainment system or via the AITO app on a smartphone.
While the official announcement did not specify the exact version number of the update, it is believed to be the same as the V3.3.12.2 version that was previously released for public beta testing. This suggests that the update has been thoroughly tested and is ready for widespread deployment.
