SEOUL, South Korea – South Korea’s iconic Gyeongbokgung Palace will begin its annual night tour, Gyeongbokgung Starlight Night Walk, on September 11 and run until October 27, according to the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea (CHA).
The event, organized by the Palace Cultural Heritage Management Office, invites visitors to explore the grand palace after sunset, offering a unique glimpse into the rich history and architectural beauty of the ancient Korean monarchy.
Highlights of the Night Tour
The night tour will allow visitors to wander through the palace’s historic sites, including the Gwanghwamun Gate, Seongjeongjeon Hall, Jiphyeonjeon Hall, Gyeonghuijeon Hall, Heungnyeongjeon Hall, Jeongnyeongnyang, Gyeonghui Pavilion, and Jotae Hall. The tour is scheduled to take place every Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. However, Mondays and September 19 and October 9 will be closed for visitors.
Ticketing and Accessibility
Tickets for the night tour will be available for purchase on September 4 at 10:00 AM through the South Korean e-commerce platform, Interpark. A total of 3,000 tickets will be sold daily. Foreign visitors can also purchase tickets on the day of the visit.
Admission is free for those wearing traditional Korean hanbok, recipients of national awards and their spouses, children under six years old, and individuals over 65 years old. They must present relevant identification to enjoy the free entry.
