Nanning, China – The first batch of exhibits for the 21st China-ASEAN Expo arrived in Nanning on September 6th, marking the beginning of a week-long event that aims to strengthen economic ties between China and its Southeast Asian neighbors.
The exhibits, totaling 1319 pieces and weighing 19.9 tons, arrived from Thailand via the Qinzhou Port and were successfully cleared by the Nanning Customs. The diverse range of products includes candies, biscuits, latex pillows, and shampoos, among others.
The China-ASEAN Expo, which will be held from September 24th to 28th in Nanning, is an important platform for promoting trade and investment between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This year’s event is expected to draw a large number of participants and showcase a wide array of products from various countries.
To ensure a smooth and efficient process for the Expo, the Nanning Customs has taken proactive measures. These include optimizing the regulatory service model, streamlining pre-exhibition registration and approval procedures, and providing comprehensive customs services during the event.
We have implemented an integrated customs declaration model to facilitate the early submission of declarations, allowing for quick customs clearance upon the arrival of the exhibits, said Lei Hui, the manager of the customs declaration department at the Guangxi branch of Hancheng International Logistics Co., Ltd.
In addition, the customs authorities have been actively coordinating with event organizers and logistics companies to stay informed about the latest developments regarding incoming exhibits. They have also tailored regulatory plans based on the different attributes and uses of the products, providing a one-stop service for customs, tariffs, and food safety, among other areas.
The Nanning Customs has established an on-site working group to ensure the smooth arrangement of exhibits. After the exhibits are set up, the group will conduct intensive inspections to identify and investigate any exhibits that violate national regulations or intellectual property rights, said Yang Yujie, the director of the customs supervision department at the Yungzhou Customs.
The China-ASEAN Expo has become an important event for promoting economic cooperation and cultural exchange between China and ASEAN countries. Over the years, the Expo has played a significant role in enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the two sides.
