Christchurch, New Zealand – The much-anticipated Electric Avenue Music Festival has revealed its star-studded lineup, with international heavyweights The Prodigy and Chase & Status set to headline the two-day event. Scheduled for February next year, the festival promises to be a memorable experience for music enthusiasts from around the globe.

The Prodigy, known for their groundbreaking electronic music and punk influences, are set to take the stage on the second day of the festival, Saturday, February 22. The British band, fronted by Keith Flint until his untimely death in 2018, continues to captivate audiences with their energetic performances and iconic tracks such as Voodoo People and Breathe.

Joining them as co-headliners are Chase & Status, a British drum and bass duo renowned for their collaborations with artists like Plan B and Rihanna. With a discography that includes hits like Countdown and Haze, the duo is expected to bring the house down with their pulsating beats and dynamic stage presence.

The Electric Avenue Music Festival, now in its tenth year, has expanded from a single-day event to a two-day celebration. This year’s lineup features over 50 international and local artists, ensuring a diverse and eclectic mix of genres for attendees to enjoy.

Among the notable acts scheduled to perform are Empire of the Sun, Wilkinson, The Kooks, Rudimental, DJ Shadow, and Khruangbin. Empire of the Sun, with their unique blend of electronic and pop music, will perform on Friday, February 21, alongside artists like Tash Sultana, L.A.B, and Shapeshifter, who will collaborate with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and Ladi6.

Saturday’s lineup also includes Wilkinson, known for his chart-topping hits in the UK, and Khruangbin, an American trio with a distinctive sound that combines elements of funk, jazz, and world music. The Kooks, a British rock band with a loyal fan base, will bring their indie-pop hits to the festival, while Rudimental will showcase their drum and bass and UK garage tracks.

According to Callam Mitchell, the festival’s director, more than 25,000 people have already registered for tickets, with 90% opting for the full two-day pass. We expect the tickets to sell out quickly, Mitchell said, urging music fans from outside Christchurch to book their accommodation early.
