Xiong’an Unveils Second Batch of Research Projects, Prioritizing Water Environment Sustainability
XIONGAN, China, Aug. 30 (CNS)– The second batch of 揭榜挂帅 (open call for research projects) research topics for the Xiong’an New Area was officially announced recently,covering 10 research topics encompassing water environment sustainability, autonomous driving simulation scene generation, and other technological research.
The list prioritizes key technological needs in thedevelopment of key areas, commercial planning, and industrial attraction and cultivation, reflecting the Xiong’an New Area’s commitment to sustainable development. The research topics were carefully selected through extensive consultations and expert evaluations.
Topping the list is the Key Technology Research Project for Sustainable High-Quality Water Environment in Xiong’an New Area. Water is a core resource for Xiong’an, and as the development of new areas progresses, the city’s water system has taken shape. However, the initial stage of the water system’s operation has resulted in a weak ecosystem, necessitating the establishment of a comprehensive technical system that encompasses water system construction and maintenance technology, water system construction control indicators, water environment quality monitoring, and water quality risk early warning.
This project aims to address the current state ofwater ecology in Xiong’an’s existing water system. Through a combination of experimental verification and analytical simulation, the project will propose a technical solution for sustainable high-quality water environment in Xiong’an’s urban areas. This will effectively guide the construction and maintenance of the city’s water system, ensuring its long-term health and clarity. The core technology will be applied to water system construction and maintenance projects in Xiong’an and other urban areas across China.
Another notable project is the Demonstration Technology Project for Autonomous Driving Simulation Scene Generation Based on Vehicle-Road Collaborative Data. The Planning Outline for the Xiong’an NewArea outlines the construction of a new intelligent transportation system framework that features real-time perception, instant response, and intelligent decision-making.
Currently, Xiong’an’s road network density is significantly higher than that of China’s 36 major cities. This project leverages the region’s abundant dataresources to develop autonomous driving simulation scene generation technology, propelling the development of Xiong’an’s transportation system towards a greener, more efficient, and intelligent direction. This will provide strong technological support for the construction of Xiong’an’s intelligent transportation system.
The Xiong’an New Area, located in HebeiProvince, is a new development zone designed to alleviate pressure on Beijing and promote sustainable development. The focus on water environment sustainability and intelligent transportation reflects the government’s commitment to building a green, innovative, and livable city. The research projects are expected to contribute significantly to the development of Xiong’an and serve as amodel for sustainable urban development in China.
