Changchun Agricultural Expo Concludes with 140 Billion Yuan in Deals

Changchun, China, August 25, 2024 – The 23rd China Changchun International Agricultural and Food Expo (Changchun Agricultural Expo) concluded on August 25th, with atotal of 140 billion yuan in signed contracts. The expo, hosted by the Jilin Provincial People’s Government and the Changchun Municipal People’s Government, has become a significant platform for showcasing achievements in agricultural modernization and fostering international agricultural exchange and cooperation.

This year’s expo attracted over 1,300 buyers and 1,500 exhibitors, with atotal of 865,000 visitors over the ten-day event. The expo showcased a wide range of agricultural products from across China, including renowned specialties like Chaoshan beef balls, Shanxi aged vinegar, Jinhua ham, and Changbai Mountain ginseng. These products were highly sought after by consumers, resulting in approximately 4.5 billion yuan in on-site transactions.

The expo also witnessed a significant number of business deals. A dedicated procurement event for 1,000 enterprises was held for the first time, resulting inover 1,000 procurement intentions and agreements worth over 20 billion yuan.

The expo highlighted the future of Chinese agriculture, showcasing cutting-edge technologies like rare earth LED lights, laser-assisted lighting, floating-bed cultivation, and tidal irrigation. The integration of big data and the Internet of Thingsin agriculture further expanded the understanding of modern agricultural practices.

The smart agricultural machinery exhibition area featured innovative machinery that addressed real-world production challenges. Products like laser weeders and autonomous driving assistance systems were particularly popular, generating 1.5 billion yuan in sales over the ten days.

Wang Wenyuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Changchun Municipal Government, emphasized the importance of facilitating post-expo follow-up. The organizers will work closely with exhibitors and buyers to ensure the timely implementation of projects. Additionally, the Jilin Provincial Agricultural Products Sales Center offline exhibition hall will be established to showcase high-quality agricultural products fromacross the country.

The Changchun Agricultural Expo has proven its significance as a driving force for agricultural development in China. It has not only attracted substantial investment but also fostered innovation and collaboration within the agricultural sector.
