中国城镇化进程加速，超9.3亿人生活在城镇
中新网8月23日电（记者 王祎） 国务院新闻办公室23日举行“推动高质量发展”系列主题新闻发布会，住房和城乡建设部部长倪虹在会上表示，截至2023年底，我国城市建成区面积达到6.4万平方公里，常住人口城镇化率达到66.16%，超过9.3亿人生活在城镇。城市功能不断完善，城市人居环境持续改善。
倪虹介绍，近年来，住建部扎实推进城市更新行动，改造城镇老旧小区，加快城市基础设施建设，努力推动城市高质量发展。累计改造城镇老旧小区超过25万个，惠及4400多万户、约1.1亿人。
据了解，中国城镇化率近年来持续上升，已成为全球城镇化率最高的国家之一。近年来，中国政府高度重视城市发展，将城市更新行动作为重要举措，旨在改善城市基础设施、提升城市环境质量、提高居民生活水平。

BEIJING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) — The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) announcedon Wednesday that by the end of 2023, China’s urban built-up area reached 64,000 square kilometers,with a permanent resident urbanization rate of 66.16%, exceeding 930 million people living in towns. Urban functions continue to improve, and the urban living environment is continuously being enhanced.
Ni Hong, Minister of MOHURD, said at a press conference on “Promoting High-Quality Development” that the ministry has been steadily advancing urban renewal actions in recent years, transforming old urban communities, accelerating urban infrastructure construction, and striving to promote high-quality urbandevelopment. A total of over 250,000 old urban communities have been renovated, benefiting more than 44 million households and approximately 110 million people.
