Title: Guangdong Police Conduct Massive Crackdown on Counterfeit Concert Ticket Fraud, Disbanding 125 Rings

Article:
In recent years, with the vigorous development of the entertainment industry, various concert tickets have become the focus of fans’ pursuit. However, this also serves as a breeding ground for fraudsters. The Guangdong provincial police recently announced that this year, the police in the province have launched a large-scale crackdown on the crime of counterfeit concert ticket fraud, dismantling a total of 125 related fraud rings and arresting 1,689 suspects.

According to the Guangdong Public Security Bureau, in response to the serious situation of telecom network fraud crimes, local public security organs, under the deployment and requirements of the provincial party committee and government, have taken measures actively and maintained a high-pressure stance on counterfeit concert ticket fraud cases. After monitoring revealed an increase in such cases within the province, police from multiple cities were quickly organized to conduct specialized case investigations and to dig deep into the criminal产业链, launching a series of high-quality crackdown operations that effectively curbed the spread of these crimes.

During the “Guanxia 23” cluster operation, the Guangdong Public Security Bureau organized the police forces of 14 cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai, to conduct a unified net-tightening operation against counterfeit concert ticket fraud rings, capturing 219 suspects and achieving significant results. In addition, the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau, after a concentrated analysis of local counterfeit concert ticket fraud cases, discovered an industry chain that uses online payment to provide fund settlement services for upstream criminal groups and successfully dismantled this black and gray industry chain.

It is reported that in counterfeit concert ticket fraud cases, the fraudsters often spread false information through social APP platforms, luring victims to add private transactions through WeChat or QQ or send false ticket purchase website links, deceiving victims’ bank account numbers, passwords, and verification codes, thereby stealing money from their bank cards. This form of fraud often targets young groups, especially students, causing serious financial losses.

The Guangdong police remind the public to purchase concert tickets through official channels or reputable ticketing platforms and not to trust unknown links and information on the internet, to avoid falling victim to scams. At the same time, the police will continue to increase their crackdown efforts to protect the property safety of the people and create a safe and stable social environment for the public.
